No, but at the same time less heat will be generated by an Ion-platform device. It is naturally that the new machine will be a little bit more expensive that common Atom-based unit, but it will not come at a cost.

The first pair of Toshiba laptops called Qosmio X305-Q708 and X305-Q706 are to incorporate three powerful NVIDIA GPUs, high-performance processors generating exciting graphics on computers and mobile devices.

The cooperative design with three NVIDIA GPUs will enable the Qosmio X305-Q708 and X305-Q706 laptops to present wonderful gaming performance with the help of two discrete GeForce 9800M GTS GPUs and NVIDIA SLI(R) technology. It will also be possible to switch the option to a quiet operation mode due to NVIDIA Hybrid SLI technology.

Rene Haas, general manager of the notebook business unit at NVIDIA says:

“We were thrilled to be able to partner with Toshiba to deliver this ground-breaking new product.”
