Buying a new computer notebook for your business can be a harrowing experience. If you don’t know what you are looking for in a notebook, you may want to take a second look at this machine. The Lenovo Thinkpad offers a lot of features that others don’t as well as updating some of the older features from the Thinkpad X41. Some people prefer to keep up with the latest computer equipment out there and save themselves a bunch of headache with an older system. Take a look around and compare prices and features and decide which computer is better for you. The Lenovo Thinkpad X60 is supposed to be the best portable notebook available.

Lenovo Thinkpad X60 Laptop

The battery life is longer than most models, and it even has a fingerprint reader. The ones out now cost about $1200-1300. The Lenovo Thinkpad X60 is thinner and less weighty than the X41 that came before it. The notebook also has a WWAN radio and the latest in Duo processors from Intel Core. The keyboard is unexpectedly large and easy to use. The notebook measures around 11 X 8. It also weighs in at a measly 3 pounds.

The computer screen included in this portable laptop is 1024 X 768 resolution. You can always fit basic business screens and spreadsheets on the monitor as well as surf the web and Internet. The keys are large enough to provide a comfortable typing experience as well. The keyboard has a red Trackpoint stick, and you can use the arrow keys to move around with or scroll a page. There is also a light that will illuminate if it gets too dark, so you can still see to type or read. There are numerous port attachments for USB ports and headphone jacks. You can use Type II PC and security digital cards. There is also a DVD drive to watch your videos on as well. You also get a modem, wifi, and Internet radio.

The newer ones run around $150, but it is believed to be quite worth the cost.

Lenovo Thinkpad X61s

The warranty that comes with these models usually runs around one to three years, and you can buy more if you think you need it. It depends on what accessories and upgrades you buy with the Lenovo Thinkpad X60. They also have a handy website where you can troubleshoot any issues you may have before going to customer service. There are also downloads you will find on this website as well as being able to chat with a customer service person. Many people like this instead of having to hang on the telephone for hours at a time. It is easier to talk to them over the Internet and fix the problem while they can tell you what needs to be done.

So take a ride to the store an find out what you can about the new Lenovo Thinkpad X60 portable notebook. It has many great features and upgrades that will be quite useful to you in the future.

There is so much we can talk about when we are speaking of Asus laptops, so why don’t we start from the top. First of all, the things that people pretend to know about but really do not, the specifics. There are many different Asus laptops out there, but the one I looked at had an Intel Core Duo processor ( about 1.66 GHz to be exact). It also had about 1 GB of RAM already installed onto the Asus laptops. The weight of the Asus laptops was actually pretty light when you think about it. In fact, the one I got to use was about 3.3 pounds.

Asus S6F Pink Laptop

Now you may say that is all good in gravy, but what about the stuff you care about? Well we are getting to that. The LCD screen was amazing and looked better than most HDTV’s I have seen. Also, for having such a big screen on it, I was amazed to see at how long the battery lasted. Most of the Asus laptops come with leather lids and a matching mouse as well. Depending on the model of Asus laptops you choose to get, most come with a great built in DVD burner, which, even if you are not going to use it, is still a nice plus.

However, if you are not into that kind of thing, I would look for one that does not have a burner, because that would just save you money. Even so, like all great things, you have to take the good with the bad.

Not everything about Asus laptops are the best. First of all, I have to say most are some what expensive for most people. For the same price that you can get one of the Asus laptops, you can get a super powerful desk top PC that would eat one of these Asus laptops alive. You could even choose not to spend so much and get a different laptop for about the same price. Unlike a few of the other keyboards I have seen, the Asus laptops seem to have a cramped space for these keyboards. If you have big hands, this could become a problem. Although the screen is nice, it does have a glossy coat on it. This can cause it to be a little bit to reflective and hard to see at times.

Asus S6F Colors

When all is said and done, all Asus laptops are great, and you are going to get your money out of them. However, if you do not have a lot of money to spend on a laptop then you may want to go with a different brand. These are super nice, but now-a-days you can get a laptop that does the same thing for less money. Keep in mind, however, that this is a very powerful laptop. Unlike other super powerful laptops, the Asus laptops are very portable. It seems like other laptops weigh a lot, and you have to stay close to a wall so you can plug it back up when the battery runs down (every hour).

HP Mini 1000 UMPC Vivienne Tam Edition

HP Mini 1000 Battery Life

The only thing that does not bring much pleasure is battery life. Usually customers deal with 3-cell battery to save their money and to feel themselves comfortable not to be bending under a big weight. For those who prefer longer battery life it is quite a sad thing that the newer netbook is equipped with only 3-cell battery and it 2-hours of energetic work. But the offer of 6-cell battery is to sure to come, which will enlarge the battery life up to 5 – 6 hours.

Another major consideration is typing, netbooks are known to be smaller than common laptop PCs. The newer Mini 1000 keyboard has 92 % the size of a regular laptop. Typing is comfortable with the keys space. And the modified tackpad is similar to that of Acer’s Aspire, the tackpad mouse buttons are sited at the sides and not below as it was before.

In the mobile computing world, quad-core processing and chipset refreshes are almost as certain as death and taxes. Fortunately, 2008 looks set to be a more exciting year than simply watching specifications grow.

The upcoming CES will be a fertile ground for the latest breakthroughs in technology. However, many of the prototypes showcased may take years before hitting the retail market, assuming they are not vaporware. So keep an eye out for our extensive coverage of the event for laptops of the future. For now, check out our educated guesses at which areas in mobile computing are likely to make the most impact in the coming year.

UMPCs equal ultraportables in performance
The ASUS Eee PC did more for the UMPC cause than others did due to its ground-breaking price point. This will pave the way for more vendors entering this niche market with cheaper or more powerful products.

Though the original intent was for UMPCs to become companions for your primary computing device, this group of machines may soon hit the same performance bracket as full-fledge ultraportables. Already, models like the Gigabyte U60 and Packard Bell EasyNote XS20 are running at 1GHz clockspeed. With the combination of faster flash-based storage and improved graphics engines, the time may come when choosing between a UMPC and an ultraportable becomes a matter of screen size preference.

Design becomes as important as specifications
With Intel dominating the mobile CPU and chipset scene, there is really very little performance difference between getting a laptop from a premium vendor versus one from a budget manufacturer. So getting laptops based on specifications have become as useful as buying a car based on the number of tires.

2007 was a colorful year as various vendors like Dell and Sony decided to differentiate their products by offering a range of colors. HP went down another path and started a range of limited-edition models sporting unique HP Imprint designs. Yet another maker, Fujitsu, adopted a different approach by squeezing a 14.1-inch display into a 13.3-inch chassis. Who knows, perhaps soon your friendly sales assistant might have to start taking lessons on aesthetics rather than technology.

Mobile gaming hits new highs
While US gamers have been happily shooting and looting with insanely fast laptops holding dual graphics cards (GPU), Asian consumers have had to meddle around with single-GPU notebooks for far too long. Thanks to Dell, the XPS M1730 finally made its way to our shores and changed the way we think about mobile gaming.

From here on out, any laptop which claims to cater to the gaming crowd will certainly need to offer dual GPUs in order to be taken seriously. In fact, Nvidia has already announced that its new SLI configuration is compatible with three video cards. Though we doubt a tri-GPU portable will appear anytime this year, we can always hope.

More notebooks get the SSD treatment
Since the processor and graphics card of a laptop are decided at birth, the primary method of improving a notebook’s performance hardware-wise used to be by upgrading the memory. Not anymore. The rise of the solid state drive (SSD) offers another viable method to boost your machine speed.
